Introducing the new PRW61, the first Casio watch to be made with biomass plastics sourced from renewable organic substances.

Produced from regenerable resources, biomass plastics are attracting attention as a material that can help reduce environmental impact by curbing CO2 emissions.

For the first time in any Casio watch, the PRW61 uses biomass plastics in the case, band, and case back. The environmentally friendly biomass plastics are produced using materials derived from castor seeds and corn, as well as other raw materials. Casio is proud of this new material application for its line of outdoor tools, PRO TREK, for nature lovers.

Delivering on outdoor utility, the model is equipped with Triple Sensor (digital compass, barometer/altimeter, and thermometer), as well as Multi-Band 6 radio wave reception from 6 transmission stations around the world, and Tough Solar to provide stable power for these functions and more. For optimum readability, the design features thick bar indexes to check time, direction, and other indicators at a glance, as well as slits on the band above and below the dial that serve as guides to quickly read the compass direction indicated by the second hand.

As part of its focus on the Sustainable Development Goals, Casio is pursuing a number of environmentally friendly initiatives, including a shift from plastic to recycled paper in packaging for the PRW61. Moving forward, Casio will also contribute to efforts to build a circular economy by expanding its use of sustainable materials in the design of other watch models, as well.

PRO TREK,
now with eco-friendly
biomass plastics

The PRO TREK brand stands for experiencing, enjoying, and preserving the wonders of nature.
Now available in a new model that uses eco-friendly biomass plastics in the case, band, and case back.

Biomass Plastics

Biomass plastics are polymers produced using chemical or biological synthesis of materials sourced from plant matter or other renewable organic substances. They are widely thought to help reduce environmental impact and promote the shift to a circular economy. PRO TREK employs biomass plastics that are made from materials extracted from castor seeds and corn.

First Casio watch to use biomass plastics:

Delivering uncompromising durability and comfort.

For the first time in a PRO TREK or any Casio watch, the case and band are made from eco-friendly biomass plastics instead of conventional resins. The use of biomass plastics also delivers uncompromising resistance to hard use as well as comfort on the wrist. We are proud of this new material application for our line of premiere outdoor tools, PRO TREK.

Case back

Case back made from biomass engineered plastics

For optimal wear resistance and an airtight seal, the case back is made from high-strength engineered plastics made from biomass materials. The case back has a wider flat surface, as well, for better torsional resistance.

High-contrast dial

Dial contrast has been enhanced by using vivid white for the large bar indexes and hour and the minute hands, delivering optimum visibility in the field. The stainless steel bezel is engraved with city codes for an outdoor gear look.

Compact design never impedes movement

The smaller design never impedes wrist movement in the outdoors, while delivering uncompromising dial visibility and ease of use.

  • WATER RESISTANT (10 BAR)

The “BAR” value indicates the number of atmospheres to which water resistance is ensured. 10 BAR means water resistance to 10 atmospheres. Watches marked “100m” have the same water resistance as 20 BAR watches

  • Full-Auto LED light

A twist of the wrist in weak light conditions automatically lights up the display backlight.

  • Low-temperature resistant (-10 °C)

Even temperatures as low as -10 °C have no effect on this watch.

  • Solar Power

A solar cell provides power for operation.

  • Radio signal reception

    EU, USA, Japan & China
Whether in Europe, North America and Japan or in the outer reaches of Canada, Central America and China - once the watch has been set to the local time, it receives the relevant signal and shows the correct time wherever you are. In many countries, it also sets itself automatically to summer and winter time.

  • Neo-display

A luminous coating provides long-term illumination in the dark after only a short exposure to light.

  • Digital-compass

A built-in direction sensor detecs the magnetic north.

  • Altimeter

    10,000 m
A pressure sensor detects changes in the air pressure and converts the result into an altitude up to 10,000 m.

  • Barometer

    (260 / 1.100 hPa)
A special sensor measures the air pressure (measuring range: 260 / 1100 hPa) and presents this on the display in the form of a symbol. This enables early detection of weather trends.

  • Thermometer

    (-10°C / +60°C)
A sensor measures the ambient temperature around the watch and displays it in °C (-10°C /+60°C).

  • Height Gain

The height gain sums all the meters you have climbed in a session, so that you can see at a glance the total ascent on a tour.

  • Altimeter data memory

Depending on the model, up to 40 sets of elevation data can be stored in the watch's data memory and re-accessed at any time. Each of these data sets consists of a measured altitude as well as the date and time. In addition to the individual altitudes, the maximum and minimum altitudes during a measurement are also stored.

  • World time function

Displays the current time in major cities and specific areas around the world.

  • Stopwatch function

    - 1/100 sec. - 24 hours
Elapsed time, split time and final time are measured with 1/100-sec accuracy. The watch can measure times of up to 24 hours.

  • Timer

    - 1/1 min. - 1 hour
For fans of precision: the countdown timers help you to remember specific or recurring events by giving off an audible signal at a preset time. The time can be set to the nearest minute and up to 1 hour in advance.

  • 5 daily alarms

The daily alarm reminds you about recurring events with an acoustic signal at the time you have set. This model has 5 independent alarms for flexible reminders of important appointments.

  • Automatic hand adjustment

The automatic hand adjustment function checks the home position of the hands every hour and corrects it if necessary — either by adjusting e.g. from shocks or using the influence of magnetism.

  • Button tones on/off

The button tones for using the mode button can be turned off. This means that the watch no longer beeps when switching from one function to another. Preset alarm or countdown timers remain active when the button tones are deactivated.

  • Hand Moving Function

With a push of a button, hands are moving and permit a free visibility of functions like stopwatch or date.

  • Crown button lock

Secures the crown button from accidental change to another mode of operation.

  • Smart Access Technology

Smart Access makes it easy to operate multi-function watches. Simply pulling out and rotating the crown provides intuitive control over all functions

  • Calendar

Automatic calendar with Date, Day and Month
Once set, the automatic calendar always displays the correct date.

  • Resin case

The resin housing is the ideal everyday companion. It is durable, lightweight and relatively insensitive to cold, heat or other external influences.
