For this model, all the stainless-steel exterior components are treated with recrystallisation and deep-layer hardening processes, and then gold-coloured IP is applied. The screw-lock case back also has a DLC coating applied to it and is engraved with the 40th anniversary logo. A star is engraved on the Mode button on the lower left side of the case, and the phrase “SINCE 1983” appears on the dial.
*Due to the screw-lock construction of the case back, the orientation of the logo and lettering on it may not match up perfectly with the dial.

Buffering components made of fine resin are installed between the stainless-steel bezel and case.
With its metal exterior in the original form of the very first G-SHOCK, the watch makes the most of its shock-resistant structure.
