Military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (Rated to 100 meters). the fiber-reinforced polymer case adds strength and durability, and the chemically-strengthened, scratch-resistant display is high-contrast enough to read in bright sunlight, so you can take it with you into the extremes you face every day. Plus, the fully vented silicone bands include two independent, removable keeper loops to ensure a secure fit and to keep you from getting caught on things.

This rugged, reliable outdoor GPS watch is built to the U.S. military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (rated to 100 meters). The fiber-reinforced polymer case adds strength and durability, and the chemically strengthened, scratch-resistant display is readable in bright sunlight. You can also activate “night vision mode,” which reduces backlight settings to a level that doesn’t interfere with the operation of night vision goggles. The fully vented silicone bands include two independent, removable keeper loops to ensure a secure fit and to keep you from getting caught on things.

GPS You Can Count On

You’ve never been one to follow the beaten path — that’s where Instinct comes in. GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite network capability tracks in more challenging environments than GPS alone. The built-in 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter help you keep your bearings. Take the guesswork out of your return journey by using the TracBack feature to navigate the same route back to start.

Tactical Functionality

Enable stealth mode to stop storing and sharing your GPS position and disable wireless connectivity and communication. Access projected waypoints and a dual-format GPS coordinate data page that supports display of MGRS, degrees/minutes/seconds and more.

Monitor and Train

Add Global Connectivity

Pair your Instinct with an inReach® device so your watch can display messages received on your inReach device and send preset messages using inReach satellite communication technology. Get weather alerts on your wrist to stay up to date with changes in your environment. Plus, you’ll be able to trigger an SOS alert to contact the GEOS 24/7 emergency response team.

Garmin Explore

For adventure seekers, explorers and outdoor enthusiasts, the Garmin Explore ecosystem lets you connect offline — away from Wi-Fi® or cellular service — to bring the best in outdoor navigation, trip planning, mapping and data sharing to your smartphone, tablet or compatible Garmin device.

Garmin Explore allows you to plan your trip and view maps you’ve previously stored on your device. Then, when you’re out on the trail and beyond the reach of cellphone towers or internet connections, Garmin Explore lets you pair your smartphone or tablet with a compatible Garmin GPS device to do and see even more. You can view your current location, plan routes, navigate, set and manage waypoints, and so on.

Manage Your Collections, Tracks and Routes

Review and edit your waypoints, tracks, routes and activities in your activity library. Add them to a collection to keep all the recorded data from a certain trip together in one place. For example, if you’re taking a long trip, you can plan different waypoints, tracks and routes for each day of the trip and combine them into one collection.

Your Mobile Cloud Connection

The Garmin Explore app will send and store your waypoints, planned routes, GPS tracks and Garmin activities you’ve recorded in the cloud, allowing you to access and use that data on the Garmin Explore web site to plan or review your adventures. You can also sync your cloud-stored data with a compatible Garmin device. A Garmin account is needed to store your data in the cloud. Your activities (e.g., runs, walks, hikes, etc.) include data such as distance, pace, activity time, location, etc. that were recorded by your device.

More Off-grid Capability with inReach

Use Garmin Explore with inReach-enabled devices such as the GPSMAP® 66i navigator and satellite communicator to turn your mobile device into a true off-the-grid satellite companion. In an emergency, you can trigger an interactive SOS to the GEOS 24/7 emergency response team. Two-way messaging and LiveTrack location tracking via the 100% global Iridium satellite network lets you stay in contact globally. The Garmin Explore app allows you to access your phone’s contact list for easier messaging and sharing when connected.
